Thermo Scientific PM CEMS: A Dual-Sensing Technology
8/28/2014
Particulate matter (PM) in flue gas can exhibit highly variable and dynamic characteristics depending on fuel type, combustion process and emission control parameters. The primary characteristics of PM are its mass concentration, size, and chemical composition. Its size influences emission transport and inhalation potential, while its chemistry largely defines its toxicity. By Kevin Goohs, R&D Manager Thermo Fisher Scientific, Franklin, MA, USA

Model 82i Mercury Probe Controller
8/25/2014
The Thermo Scientific Model 82i probe controller is microprocessor-driven and connected by an umbilical to the stack probe and mercury converter. The controller automates probe calibration and dynamic spiking, and confirms auto dilution. It also monitors probe temperature, measures flow rates and pressure in the sampling loop, and enables automated filter blowback.

Model 80i Mercury Analyzer
8/25/2014
The Thermo Scientific Model 80i analyzer uses an advanced cold vapor atomic fluorescence technology. This technology enables the Model 80i analyzer to provide continuous sample measurement, with no additional gases or accumulations required and virtually no interference from SO2. High sensitivity allows high sample dilution reducing moisture, heat, and interfering pollutants.
