Southern Power, a leading U.S. wholesale energy provider and subsidiary of Southern Company, today announced the expansion of its 29th solar project — Millers Branch Solar Facility. The Phase II expansion represents an additional 180-megawatts (MW) from the current Phase I 200 MW facility that is nearing the start of construction.

MN8 Energy Sources 457 MW Of American Solar Modules From First Solar

(“First Solar”) announced that MN8 Energy LLC (“MN8”) has placed orders for 457 megawatts (MW) of advanced thin film solar modules, including 170 MW of Series 6 Plus bifacial modules and 287 MW of Series 7 modules. Through Sustainability Roundtable, Inc.'s Net Zero Consortium for Buyers (NZCB), Cisco, Juniper Networks, Bio-Rad Laboratories, Cadence Design Systems, IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., PTC, and a large healthcare company signed an aggregated virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Southern Power Company for the renewable energy credits produced by the 180 MW Phase II portion of the Millers Branch Solar Facility in Haskell County, Texas, expected to achieve commercial operation in the second quarter of 2026.
