Westinghouse Ships Steam Generators to Chinese Power Station

N/Ao Nucleares, S.A. (ENSA), the Spanish partner of <%=company%>, is shipping steam generators to the Qinshan II, Unit 1 commercial nuclear power station in China. The shipment, which is being shipped by Equipo Nucleares, S.A. (ENSA), Westinghouse's Spanish partner, left on March 17 and is expected to arrive at the Qinshan site in late April.

The Model 60 steam generators were manufactured at ENSA's facility in Santander and will be installed in the first of two nuclear plants being constructed at the Qinshan II site. Commercial operation is expected in early 2002.

The first steam generator for the Unit 2 plant at Qinshan II will be manufactured by ENSA and the second by Shanghai Boiler Works, a subcontractor to ENSA. Commercial operation of the second plant is expected in 2003.

Westinghouse, which recently formed a consortium with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and a group of Spanish companies to provide full-package nuclear power plants in China, is the designer and the engineer of the steam generators for both plants at Qinshan II.
