Westinghouse delivers steam generators to ANO-2

Westinghouse Electric recently delivered two replacement steam generators to Entergy's ANO-2 nuclear power plant in Russellville, AR. ANO-2 is a CE-designed pressurized water reactor with an output of 941 MW.

A Westinghouse subcontractor, Equipos Nucleares (ENSA) of Spain, manufactured the steam generators, which are the largest that Westinghouse designs and the largest built by ENSA. ENSA completed manufacturing within 33 months and shipped the units to Entergy in early July.

Entergy expects to install the generators in mid-September, with full commercial operation expected in the fourth quarter of this year.

ENSA, also a Westinghouse licensee, has now manufactured and delivered nine steam generators for Westinghouse as a subcontractor. Besides the two replacement steam generators delivered to ANO-2, it delivered four original equipment steam generators to the Qinshan NSSS site in China late last year and early this year. Also, ENSA delivered three replacement steam generators to Southern Company's Farley 1 plant earlier this year.

Another seven are under construction by ENSA for Westinghouse: three replacement steam generators for Farley 2 and four for the South Texas Project. Both plants are Westinghouse-designed pressurized water reactors.
