Bypassing the need for a potential transformer (PT) when monitoring voltage output, the model 15KVP voltage probe is capable of connecting directly to 15 kilovolts
Summit Technology, Inc.he need for a potential transformer (PT) when monitoring voltage output, the model 15KVP voltage probe is capable of connecting directly to 15 kilovolts. The direct connection to the primary voltage and Summit Technology, Inc.he PT enables this system to avoid phase shift and linearity problems. It also allows direct connection at any point of interest whether PTs already exist or not. The probes are used with the PowerSight line of energy analyzers.

Each unit is 16 in. long and 1.5 in. diameter. It connects to high voltage lines via an open hook that is 1.3 inches in diameter. The hook is screwed into the end of the probe and can be replaced with other custom attachments. The bottom of this product has a recessed threaded hole for mounting to a hot stick. The probe is lifted into position via the hot stick. A typical installation includes three units (one for each phase) and one energy analyzer. Connected to the analyzer via safety banana jacks, units are securely grounded via a hefty ground lead.
