Voith And Enel Green Power Sign Three-Year Global Agreement For Turbine Governors

  • Modernization of Enel Green Power’s power plant fleet with new turbine governors across the Americas and Europe
  • Voith to deliver, install and commission digital and hydraulic control systems

Voith and Enel Green Power (EGP) signed an umbrella contract for the supply of complete turbine governor modernization services.

Part of this framework agreement is the technical alignment on a globally consistent basic product specification that can be adapted locally. In this way, EGP’s respective hydropower plants can use the basic product specification as a foundation and match it to their specific local needs. The umbrella contract also provides a secure basis for EGP to plan its modernization investments and thus represents a strong added value for the company. Another benefit is that the negotiation lead time can be reduced to a minimum when new equipment is needed at a specific plant.

It is expected that local EGP affiliates in 13 countries will take advantage of the framework agreement where over the next three years there will be a need for modernization of governors.

There were several reasons EGP engaged with Voith under this framework agreement. First, Voith has longstanding experience with over 18,000 governors supplied since manufacturing began in the late 19th century. Furthermore, both companies operate globally with local subsidiaries serving similar geographic markets.
