Richland, WA – today announced the release of "Electrical Worker Training .269" (EWT.269) multimedia training program. EWT.269 is the newest product in the Vivid Concepts line of computer based and soon-to-be web-based training programs. "EWT .269 will be very important to the power industry. Mandatory training time will be significantly cut while scheduling flexibility will increase," said Rick Locke, President of Vivid Concepts.

EWT was developed with the Occupational Training Operations committee of the Northwest Public Power Association and presents the complete contents of the OSHA 1910.269 safety training Standard for linemen. Public utilities can use this program to meet new employee and line crew annual training competency requirements for linemen.

Well-written computer-based training courses like EWT.269 only take about half as long to complete, while improving student retention by 50%. The EWT program is also very flexible. For instance, crews can be trained during stormy weather rather than on a nice workday when a contracted instructor was previously scheduled.

EWT.269 is designed to be the most reliable, effective and efficient program for training linemen in the power industry. The multimedia instruction combines video, graphics, sound, narration, skill activities, and optional learning choices to ensure peak student learning.

Vivid Concepts, Inc., provides computer-based and web-based training products to a wide range of commercial and government clients. Vivid Concepts was one of the first companies to "spin-off" from Hanford and currently holds the Hanford contract for computer-based employee health and safety training. Vivid Concepts also sells "Instant OSHA Plus" which is designed to meet OSHA training requirements for manufacturing and processing plants. In addition to an electric utility version of Instant OSHA Plus designed for all utility employees, not just line crews, Vivid Concepts has a version for cities and counties. Many more courseware titles are in the Vivid Concepts pipeline.

"I'm very excited about Vivid's low-cost, high quality training products and our ability to deliver our products via the world-wide web. Further, we have established teaming arrangements across the United States to put Vivid products on a number websites," said Locke. Vivid Concepts is located at 1835 Terminal Drive in Richland, and at 1111 3rd Avenue in Seattle, Washington. More information is available at the company's website: www. vividconcepts.com.
