The Furmanite Torque Tamer system is an original patent pending design, developed and refined to provide a lightweight, cost effective method of safely controlling the rotational torque of a pneumatic wrench when utilized in operating valves in process plants.
The system incorporates a small, lightweight torque reaction arm attached to an existing bolt pattern designed into the wrench. The reaction arm is located within a three-sided channel beam when positioned in place on the valve hand wheel and retained within the channel with two removable safety pins. The channel is permanently attached to the valve body utilizing a substructure allowing its movement to follow the piping when thermal expansion of the piping system is encountered.
