A radiation tolerant Thru-Wall (and Thru-Roof) Viewing System has been developed and can be fitted into the shield walls and roofs of nuclear plants and view the insides of cells through a special sealed viewing dome. The system incorporates a non-browning endoscope that relays views of the cell back to a color CCD camera located on the cold side of the cell wall. Full hemispherical viewing of the cell interior is achieved by the use of a double prism assembly located at the front of the endoscope. Operational ergonomics have been fully considered. The double prism is used to provide image correction and specially commissioned software is used to control the prism tilt and rotate to simulate conventional camera pan and tilt joystick commands.

Major multi-camera radiation tolerant system installations such as the R980 System Camera are used for monitoring requirements for nuclear power stations and waste handling plants. This camera utilizes new multi-camera system technology and works in conjunction with LPC's, PC's or Microprocessors. Improvements to the existing R980 System include reduction in size, AC lighting, three additional zoom lenses (8-24mm, 12-72mm, 24-144mm).
