TEi Delivers Largest Pressure Vessels In Its 90 Year History

Danvers, MA - Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. (TEi) announced that it recently shipped the two largest pressure vessels in the 90-year history of the company. The two Moisture Separator Reheaters (MSR) were designed at its corporate headquarters and fabricated in its factory in Sapulpa, OK.

The MSR's were supplied to Detroit Edison for installation in its 1,100 MW Fermi 2 Power Plant. MSR's improve the efficiency of the turbine by drying and reheating the steam between the HP and LP turbines, which has the additional benefit of reducing erosion of the LP turbine blades. Each MSR is 13 feet in diameter, 110 feet long and weighs 300 tons. The two vessels were shipped by special train to the plant located near Detroit Michigan.

Abraham Yarden, the President of TEi's Moisture Separator Reheaters and Advanced Projects Division stated that, "We appreciate Detroit Edison's confidence in TEi, for the supply of such critical equipment. The recent focus on the U.S. Nuclear fleet and abroad has resulted in many projects for TEi." TEi is a leading supplier of feedwater heaters, steam surface condensers and moisture separator reheaters for nuclear and conventional power plants worldwide. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Joplin MO and Sapulpa OK, and provides complete after market parts and services for all OEM's heat exchangers.
