SSC Service Solutions

SSC Service Solutions was founded by Baxter Lee in 1969 as Southeast Service Corporation. Mr. Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Finance. He was a Director of the Building Service Contractor's Association International (B.S.C.A.I.) and a member of the Southeast Region Federal Reserve Board. Through Mr. Lee's vision and leadership we grew from being a small cleaning company in Knoxville, Tennessee into a nationwide corporation.

As SSC grew, we expanded both our services and our service area. Today, SSC is one of the largest contract service organizations in the country with over 8,500 employees, offices in 34 states, and the capability to provide total facility support -- every aspect of both cleaning and maintenance. And, because of our size, we've been able to develop time- and money-saving systems such as national purchasing power, specialized management, modern, labor-saving equipment, a large information database, and extensive technical support.

Since our company was founded on the belief that our people are our greatest asset, we've managed to attain the benefits of being a large corporation without losing sight of the importance of people. We make it a point to recognize our employees' personal achievements and to foster the full development of their potential. And, most importantly, we encourage a balance between work, life, and community involvement.

In 1998, we changed our name to reflect these additions to our company. Our new name, SSC Service Solutions, symbolizes our expansion and evolution in both services and locations. At the same time, SSC remains in the name to symbolize that we still have the same philosophy and high standards as always.
