Sonic/Ultrasonic Fault Detector

Triple 5 Industries, LLC550FD Fault Detector was developed principally as a tool to help power generating stations set up a predictive maintenance schedule. The unit is believed to be the only instrument of its kind that can acoustically analyze on-line transformers. It is capable of identifying potential areas of failure in power substation transformers. Employing two interchangeable acoustic devices, this product detects potentially dangerous transformer problems, including corona-type discharges loose parts, destructive arcing in tap changers, and cavitation and turbulent flow in oil cooling pumps. The instrument can also detect problems in pressurized air, steam and gas systems and vacuum systems, such as valve leaks, faulty steam traps, worn or dry bearings, and tube leaks in power and recovery boilers.
