Siemens Gamesa Signs The Largest Order In Its History In India: It Will Build A 300 MW Wind Farm

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has taken a step further in its positioning in India with the signature of the largest order in its history in the country. According to the contract 1 reached with Sembcorp Green Infra - subsidiary of Sembcorp Energy India -, Siemens Gamesa will build turnkey a 300 MW wind farm, in which it will install 143 SG 2.1-122 wind turbines.

Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL) is an independent energy producer, leader in the identification and development of renewable assets in India. The company has a diversified portfolio that accumulates a total generation capacity of around 4.37 GW in the country.

Under the terms of the contract, Siemens Gamesa will be responsible for all the necessary infrastructure for the installation and operation of this project, located in the state of Gujarat, in the west of the country. In addition, it will maintain the park for ten years, which is scheduled to start in April 2019.

First order for model SG 2.1-122
This order also stands out for being the first one that the company reaches for the supply of the SG 2.1-122 model, specifically optimized for sites with low winds, such as India. The park will be connected to the Indian interstate transmission network and will supply energy to several states, supporting them in the achievement of their renewable objectives.

Present in India since 2009, Siemens Gamesa has recently surpassed the milestone of the 5 GW launched in the country. The company has two blade factories in Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) and Halol (Gujarat), one nacelle in Mamandur (Chennai, Tamil Nadu) and one repair center in Red Hills (Chennai, Tamil Nadu).
