Application Note: FTM52 In Solid/Liquid Interface

Application Problems
These bins were previously fitted with mechanical paddle switches which failed often. This failure allowed fly ash to spill over into the water discharge pipe which would lead to a "concrete like" plugging which could only be removed by high pressure water lances by an outside contractor. On occasion, the fly ash entered the water pump, thereby destroying the pump. The pump repair alone was in excess of $20,000.
