ARC S2 Datasheet

Source: A.W. Chesterton Company

An advanced ceramic composite for the resurfacing and protection of all metal surfaces. It is normally applied at a thickness of 250 microns (10 mils) per coat. Non-shrinking, 100% solids. Colors are Gray and Green.

ARC S2 is formulated for the resurfacing of metal components subjected to extreme corrosive or severe fluid flow conditions. ARC S2 is a low viscosity composite that is designed to be spray applied but may also be applied by roller or brush. This product is formulated as a two coat system to provide extended wear life for plant equipment. Cured ARC S2 provides a high gloss ceramic surface with unrivaled resistance to erosion-corrosion.

COMPOSITION - Polymer/ Ceramic Composite
Matrix - A two component, modified epoxy resin structure reacted with an aliphatic curing agent.

Reinforcement - A proprietary blend of fine ceramic reinforcements designed to provide resistance to erosion and corrosion.

Packaging
Material is available in three sizes: 2 kg, 12 kg, and 15 liter kits. Each package contains two pre-measured containers (Part A and Part B). A mixing tool, brush and instructions for use are enclosed with the 2 kg and 12 kg kits. The 15 liter kit contains only application instructions.

Coverage
Based on a 375µ (15 mils) thickness:

2 kg kit will cover 3.56 sq. meters (37.7 sq. ft.)
12 kg kit will cover 21.33 sq. meters (226.0 sq. ft.)
15 liters will cover 40.0 sq. meters (423.8 sq. ft.)

Chemical Resistance
Recommended for exposure to moderate concentrations of acids, alkalies, bleaches, and other chemicals. Please refer to the ARC Chemical Resistance Charts for a comprehensive list of chemicals and associated exposure ratings at ambient temperatures post curing will improve chemical resistance; contact ARC Technical Services for elevated temperature exposure.
