SCE ENERGY EFFICIENCY REBATES AVAILABLE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

ROSEMEAD, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California Edison is encouraging its small business customers to take advantage of the utility's rebate program by purchasing energy-efficient lighting, air conditioning, refrigeration, food service equipment, and light-emitting diode (LED) exit signs.

The "Express Efficiency" rebate program helps small businesses become more competitive while reducing energy use and costs.

Qualifying equipment includes:

-- Lighting equipment such as fluorescent lamps and fixtures, LED exit

signs, electronic ballasts, sensors, photocells and time clocks.
-- Refrigeration/food service equipment such as night covers, strip
curtains, glass/acrylic doors, new refrigeration cases, humidistat
       controls, and door gaskets.
-- Package terminal air conditioners, variable frequency drives, time
clocks, thermostats, reflective window film, and evaporative coolers.

Rebates are available for small- and medium-sized commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers with electric demands less than 500 kilowatts. Businesses are eligible for the Express Efficiency program even if they purchase energy from another provider, as long as they receive distribution services from SCE. New construction projects do not qualify for this program.

To apply, customers can call 1-800-736-4777 to receive a brochure, application, and to reserve funds. Funds for these rebates are limited, so customers are encouraged to call early. The deadline for this program is December 15, 1999. Information is also available on the Internet at www.scebiz.com.

An Edison International company, Southern California Edison is the
nation's second largest investor-owned electric utility, serving more
than 11 million people in a 50,000-square-mile area within central,
coastal and Southern California.
