RWE Has Selected A Certifying Partner For The Few Baltic Ii Offshore Wind Farm

RWE Offshore Wind Poland, a subsidiary of RWE Renewables, chose an experienced partner, UL Solutions, to certify the design assumptions of the 350 MW FEW Baltic II wind farm. The designed farm will be located in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea, on an area of ​​41 square kilometres, at a depth of 30-50 metres and approximately 55 kilometres from the coast.

UL Solutions will proceed with certification in accordance with the provisions of the Maritime Safety Act and international IEC regulations and procedures. The entire process will be carried out in agreement with the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS), which has many years of experience in cooperation on projects in the Baltic Sea. The cooperation between UL Solutions and PRS shows how important Polish companies are in constructing and operating the FEW Baltic II offshore wind farm.

We do not want to stop at the FEW Baltic II project, which is why we have also applied for all 11 areas made available by the Polish authorities for the construction of further wind farms”.

Once launched, the 350 MW FEW Baltic II wind farm will be able to generate enough green electricity to meet the needs of approximately 350,000 households.

In addition to offshore, RWE operates in our country onshore wind farms with a total installed capacity of over 420 MW. This year, the sixteenth in the company’s portfolio was connected to the network – Rozdrażew (16.8 MW). The seven turbines can generate enough green electricity to meet the needs of over 27,000 Polish households. The implementation of the Wierzchlas (7 MW) and Żnin (48 MW) projects is underway. The Dolice (48 MW) and Lech Nowy Staw III (12 MW) wind farms owned by RWE are waiting for licenses. The Lech Nowy Staw III wind farm in the Pomeranian Voivodeship will soon start producing energy for several breweries operating in our country.
