The Reduced Emissions and Advanced Combustion Hardware (REACH) technology reduces emissions in oil- and gas-fired boilers through hardware changes such as upgraded atomizers and flame stabilizers that provide combustion conditions conducive to emissions reductions. The REACH Technology, which has been proven in more than 130 boilers within the U.S., maximizes the emissions benefits of A-55 Clean Fuels.
Atomizers
The V-Jet oil atomizer delivers NOx reductions in circular burners through a unique fuel spray pattern that produces a radially staged flame to minimize NOx formation. The V-Jet oil atomizer also reduces unburned carbon that contributes to soot, smoke and opacity. In addition, it creates unit efficiency improvements.
REACH uses a compound-curved-vane (CCV) swirler for flame stabilization and better control of fuel and air mixing. Better control of the fuel/air ratio allows for reduction of excess combustion air that contributes to NOx formation.
