PT. Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap Starts Commercial Operation For Rantau Dedap Geothermal Power Plant Development

PT. Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap (SERD), a joint venture of PT. Supreme Energy, ENGIE, Marubeni Corporation and Tohoku Electric Power announces the Commercial Operation Date of Phase-1 Rantau Dedap Geothermal Power Generation with the capacity of 91.2 MW on December 26th, 2021. The Rantau Dedap geothermal power plant is located in Muara Enim Regency, Lahat Regency and Pagar Alam City, South Sumatra Province. This electricity sourced from green CO2 emission free energy will be dispatched to PT. PLN (Persero) Sumatra grid transmission to support the reliability supply of electricity in Sumatra area.

PT. Supreme Energy started the preliminary study in 2008, signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in 2012 and started with exploration activities immediately until 2015. Upon completion of PPA Amendment at the end of 2017 and reached financial closed in 2018, construction and well drilling for development phase were commenced. SERD appointed PT Rekayasa Industri and Fuji Electric consortium as EPC Contractor. Total investment for Rantau Dedap Phase-1 development was more than USD 700 million.

Supreme Energy and its partners toward the development of Geothermal Energy in Indonesia to support the Government of Indonesia achieving energy transition objective” the Founder & Chairman of PT. Supreme Energy, Mr. Supramu Santosa said.

Currently, Supreme Energy is also operating 86 MW Muara Laboh Geothermal Power Plant Unit-1 under PT. Supreme Energy Muara Laboh (PT. SEML), in West Sumatra Province, which is already operated since December 2019. Two Supreme’s projects in the pipeline, the development of Muara Laboh Geothermal Unit-2 80 MW and exploration phase of Rajabasa Geothermal Power Plant 2 x 110 MW in Lampung Province under PT. Supreme Energy Rajabasa (SERB), are currently awaiting for PPA Amendment agreement with PT. PLN (Persero). SEML is a joint venture of Supreme Energy, ENGIE and Sumitomo formed in 2011. INPEX later joined the venture in end of 2021. SERB is a Joint Venture company comprises of PT. Supreme Energy, ENGIE and Sumitomo Corporation.
