This paper reviews trona and sodium bicarbonate in Dry Sorbent Injection systems, focusing on calcination of the products at >275 degrees F, application of sodium bicarbonate in a process boiler, performance of HCl and SO₂ mitigation, application of a combination of sodium bicarbonate and hydrated lime in a biomass boiler, the performance of sodium bicarbonate for HCl and SO₂ removal from waste incinerators, and ends with a succinct summary of sodium sorbents in DSI.
