Application of the DEHNguard® Series

The DEHNguard® series consists of the basic DEHNguard® model, a single pole SPD (TVSS), single MOV modular device, with a thermal disconnect, in a sealed thermoplastic enclosure for DIN-3 rail mounting, with a set of multifunctional terminals for wire or bus bar connection, and a red fault indicating flag window. Variations of the basic DEHNguard® are the P series with a replaceable plug-in MOV module, and the R model with contacts for remote monitoring or supervision. Four possible combinations are available. Note that the replaceable P series module can be inserted only into the base for which it was rated; it cannot be improperly fitted into another base.

The DEHNguard® series is intended for 600 V class applications to protect against overvoltage surges generated by lightning strikes or localized switching surges. Typical installations would be near main service entry distribution boards or sub-distribution boards or panels or directly associated with specific electrical equipment such as PLC, drives, or other sensitive equipment used in the industrial, commercial and telecommunications industry.
