PI-SMT (Server)
PI for Windows NT and UNIX includes several utilities that are used to configure points, monitor the data flow, manage the archives, and configure the security settings. These utilities are called the PI System Management Tools.
The PI System Management Tools (PI-SMT) are a set of Microsoft Windows-based graphical applications that are used to administer the PI System from client PCs. The PI System Management Tools consist of PI-TagConfigurator and PI-HealthCheck
PI-TagConfigurator
PI-TagConfigurator is an Excel Add-In used to create new tags and modify the attributes of existing tags from a spreadsheet.
The easiest way to configure PI tags is to:
- Import existing tag attributes from a PI Server to a spreadsheet.
- Modify the tag attributes on the spreadsheet.
- Export the modified tag attributes to the target PI Server.
PI-HealthCheck
PI-HealthCheck gives the user a point and click overview of one or more PI Systems from a single location. This includes information about all PI Systems regardless of geographic location and computer platform. The graphical interface is in the form of a " tree structure" similar to the Windows File Manager. Each Pi System is listed. If you doubleclick on the computer name, the view expands to show the PI System information choices. Details of PI clients, servers, and interface nodes can be viewed by double-clicking on the node of interest. You may configure it to report information about any mix of PI home nodes, PINet nodes, and PIonPINet nodes. HeathCheck is available as an application, an HTML file and an ActiveX control.
