Philliips, Getschow Co. has been an industry leader for over 100 years, and that is what separates us from our competitors.

George Phillips and George Getschow founded the company in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1894, moving shortly thereafter to Chicago, Illinois, and establishing themselves as a high-quality, small consumer contractor. During the 1920s the Phillips, Getschow Co. became privately owned by the Getschow family, and subsequently entered the commercial sector. Early projects included the Wrigley building, the Merchandise Mart, and the Palmer Hotel. The war years found the company involved in large joint ventures supporting the war effort, and beginning a long relationship with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers by receiving authorization for "Power Piping." During the ensuing years the company expanded into power generation and heavy industrial construction, including being the first non-turnkey mechanical contractor to be authorized by ASME for nuclear construction. During our years of continuous growth, and into the 1990s, Phillips, Getschow Co.'s focus has remained on providing professional excellence and service to our valued clients.

We at Phillips, Getschow Co. take pride in our past accomplishments, but we are even more proud of our capabilities to innovate for the future.

History is not something we dwell on, it is something we make.
