NPPD's Beatrice Power Station Combined Cycle Project Awarded to TIC/Utility Engineering JV

Utility Engineering Corporation (UE), headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, announced that on December 13, 2002, the company received official notice from Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) that its Joint Venture with TIC-The Industrial Company (TIC) was awarded a $157,244,914 EPC contract for the combined cycle power plant at Beatrice, Nebraska.

The TIC/UE Beatrice Joint Venture will design, procure, construct and commission the plant. The majority of the design will occur in UE's Amarillo office, with some local assistance from the Omaha office. The TIC/UE Joint Venture was selected out of an initial list of 30 potential vendors and a final list of four contractors who participated in a competitive bid and evaluation process. Site work will begin with groundbreaking in the spring of 2003. The target completion date for the project is December 2004.
