New standard Motor Operator from Turner Electric; SF300 obsoletes HS2 model.

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL - Utility Substation and Transmission planning and system engineers can now specify an electro-mechanical Motor Operator that promises to become the new "standard" for switching. Named the SF300, this feature-rich product replaces the now obsolete HS2 Motor Operator in Turner Electric's extensive line of switch controls.

"With the introduction of the SF300, Turner Electric has provided a product that our customers can comfortably specify for use not only on our switches, but virtually any other medium- and high-voltage air break switch commercially available," stated Richard Louis, Turner's National Sales Manager.

The SF300 model provides two-speed, high-speed operation when coupled with a Turner Electric switch. (Turner offers Vertical, Side, Center-side and V- break switch designs from 15kV through 800 kV, with current ratings of 600, 1200 and 2000 Amps.) When applied on other manufacturer's designs, the SF300 Motor Operator can be easily reconfigured to single speed, constant torque operation.
The compact design of the SF300 delivers yet another benefit, according to Louis. "There is adequate room inside the enclosure for the battery and charger, as well as customer's RTU's, radio and/or other communication apparatus," he said.
