Mutsu Ogawara Wind Power Plant Commences Commercial Operation 15 Units Of 4.3 MW Wind Turbines To Supply Power Equivalent To Approximately 46,000 Households
Kanadevia Corporation (Head Office: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; President & CEO: Michi Kuwahara; “Kanadevia”), ITOCHU Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & COO: Keita Ishii; “ITOCHU”), and Tokyo Century Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Koji Fujiwara; “Tokyo Century”) announce that Mutsu Ogawara Wind Power LLC, a special purpose company jointly invested in by the three companies, commenced commercial operation of the Mutsu Ogawara Wind Power Plant on March 2, 2026, under Japan’s Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme.
Mutsu Ogawara Wind Power LLC (Location: Rokkasho Village, Kamikita District, Aomori Prefecture; Representative Member: Kanadevia; Executive Officer: Takashi Fujita) has been developing the project along the Pacific coastal area of Rokkasho Village, Aomori Prefecture.
The project, located in the area surrounding Mutsu Ogawara Port, consists of 15 onshore wind turbines with a grid connection capacity of 57,000 kW (maximum generating capacity of 64,500 kW). Detailed design and construction began in 2023, and construction was completed in February 2026. The wind farm is expected to supply electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 46,000 households and to reduce CO₂ emissions by about 81,000 tons per year.
Kanadevia has extensive experience in onshore wind power generation, having constructed 12 wind turbines, including projects owned by the company, in prefectures such as Akita and Aomori. In this project, Kanadevia is responsible for the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) of the facilities, as well as operation, management, and maintenance services for approximately 20 years.
ITOCHU is actively expanding its power solutions business in the power and environmental sectors, covering a wide range of renewable energy generation businesses—including wind, solar, and biomass power generation—as well as related fields.
Tokyo Century develops businesses that integrate finance, services, and operations through co-creation with partner companies in Japan and overseas. Going beyond its core leasing business, the company is committed to addressing global social issues by further expanding its renewable energy and battery-related projects.
Through this project, the three companies and Mutsu Ogawara Wind Power LLC will contribute to the wider adoption of renewable energy, regional decarbonization, the reduction of environmental impact, and the realization of a sustainable society.
