The Powerlon module communicates through the home's electrical system to a local area network controller at the home or business site. With this module, the user can plug and play an automated meter into their home management system. New features are added by programming over the powerline. The modules are typically managed by gateway/head-end software provided by the system integrator. Other features include:
•Retrofits under the glass of standard, residential watt-hour meters
•Converts existing single-phase meter into an automated metering device
•Collects and reports key electric consumption data
