The BLITZDUCTOR®CT series is intended for installation in Measurement and Control Systems for the protection of PLCs, DCSs, instrumentation, measuring, sensing and signaling circuits. It protects against line-conducted disturbances of high-energy impulses, including direct lightning strikes, and other induced transients.
The BLITZDUCTOR®CT is designed to be placed in series with the paired information carrying conductors, before entering a high risk environment. The BLITZDUCTOR®CT protection module is a replaceable component that is fitted in the DIN-35 mounted base of the modular terminal block system. Should the protection module require replacement, this is done without interruption of the circuit due to a set of "make before break" contacts mounted in the base. Both base and protection module are housed in a sealed thermoplastic enclosure.
