Lube Analyst is a versatile database system designed to meet the needs of lubricant test laboratories and equipment
Lube Analyst is a versatile database system designed to meet the needs of lubricant test laboratories and equipment operators who use lubricant sampling and analysis for condition based maintenance. In the laboratory, the system's data acquisition features include electronic interfaces to the instruments commonly used for lubricant analysis, such as atomic emission spectrometers, FT-IR spectrometers, wear particle counters, viscometers, and titrators. Results for other common tests such as analytical ferrography, ASTM tests, fuel dilution, acidity, etc. can also be entered via user-defined manual data entry screens. Sample management features are also provided for sample registration, sample status and test process tracking, and access, display and reporting of test results via a "sample view" of the database.

At the equipment site, Lube Analyst provides a historical database of lubricant test results for tracked machinery items and a suite of data analysis tools for condition based maintenance support. In particular, the equipment status evaluation features automatically assess and display equipment condition using user-defined limits for "condition indicator" level or rate-of-change. Equipment status is displayed graphically via an iconic map of the equipment, from which the user can directly access the various data analysis features. These features include graphical display of condition indicator trends and automatic interpretation of these trends via the software's rule-based expert system, which diagnoses equipment and lubricant problems and provides maintenance action recommendations.
