This new "LIMIT" temperature limit controller is an economical solution that protects a process or heater from over-temperature conditions. The controller provides a control output that can be used to either shut down a process or simply send an alarm when the setpoint temperature is reached. Its 35-mm DIN Rail mounting allows quick installation without drilling or extra hardware, which is important to machine and panel builders working on particularly cost-sensitive applications. Along with DIN rail mounting, flush mounting slots allow sub-panel installation behind the door of an enclosure to prevent tampering by unauthorized personnel. With UL recognition and Factory Mutual approval, the LIMIT can be used in almost any plant.

Users will appreciate the controller's easy-to-use controls; just dial the limit setpoint and it's ready to use. Different models accept inputs from RTDs, plus J and K thermocouples, and cover a temperature range from zero to 2300°F. Automatic cold junction compensation is included for thermocouple input. Terminals are provided for a remote "Reset" pushbutton. Whenever the sensed temperature exceeds the setpoint limit, a SPDT latching, manually resettable relay with contacts rated 3.8 A at 120 VAC will de-energize to provide a control output. The two input power options are 24 and 120 VAC.
