Lanco Kondapalli Power Plant Wins Prestigious Golden Peacock And Greentech Safety Awards

Awards recognize the company’s contribution to Environment & Safety

New Delhi, Delhi - As one of India’s leading business entities, Lanco Infratech Limited (LITL) has been driving growth in the domains of EPC, Power, Solar, Natural Resources and Infrastructure and one of the largest IPP in India with installed capacities of 4410 MW, recently announced that Lanco Kondapali Power Limited (LKPL), a subsidiary of Lanco Infratech Limited won prestigious awards in the domain of Safety and Environment Management.

Lanco Kondapalli Power Plant won the Golden Peacock Award for its excellent environment performance which is a milestone achieved by the power plant in the area of excellence in EHS(Environment, Health and Safety) management. The significant achievements of this Plant include considerable reduction in Water conservation, Re-use & recycling of Waste water, Energy savings, reduction in NOx emission by adopting Dry Low NOx technology burners, Development of green belts, Distribution of saplings and spreading awareness among surrounding locality towards green environment.

The Golden Peacock Awards is instituted by World Environment Foundation to promote best strategy and management of environmental issues by organizations is awarded based on a 3-tier Assessment process covering an exhaustive set of parameters. The emphasis is on development, management and on countrywide awareness of duties of government, corporations, voluntary sector and individuals to maintain ecological balance by minimizing adverse environmental impact.

This was followed by the Greentech Safety Award in the golden category which was received in recognition of the plant’s top priority to workplace health and safety philosophy. Lanco Kondapalli Power promotes excellent safety culture by conducting regular Safety trainings, Personal Productive Equipment and tool-box talks, Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) Permit to Work system, Risk Assessments, Hazard analysis, Safety audits on a regular basis also

Lanco Tanjore Power Company Limited also bagged the SILVER Award in Power Sector by Greentech Foundation for continuous efforts and outstanding achievement in safety management.
