LubriMist Oil Mist Systems Provide Superior Wear Protection vs. Conventional Oil Sump Lubrication
LubriMist Oil Mist Systems Provide Superior Wear Protection vs. Conventional Oil Sump Lubrication

A lubrication system can be defined as "The life blood of any piece of rotating equipment." It is the most important system for keeping machinery operating effectively for extended time periods. As the performance requirements of rotating equipment increases, the design manufacture fabrication and reliability of their ancillary lubricating systems must also keep pace.

Oil mist lubrication meets and exceeds these requirements. In particular, LubriMist Oil Mist technology is proven and is the technically preferred approach for significantly improving the reliability of rotating equipment in industries such as: refining, petrochemical, steel pulp/paper, textile, cement, mining and power generation. All are major users of LubriMist Oil Mist Systems.

A LubriMist Oil Mist System is a centralized lubrication system that generates, conveys and automatically delivers lubricant. It has no moving parts making it very reliable. The heart of an oil mist system is the generator which utilizes the energy of compressed air to atomize oil into micron sized particles. The lean mixture of oil and air produced by the generator is known as oil mist. The oil particles form a stable suspension that can be conveyed considerable distance through piping and tubing to the point requiring lubrication.

Benefits of Oil Mist Technology
When Applied To:
Pumps, Electric Motors, Steam Turbines, Gear Boxes,
Pillow Block Bearings and Blowers

BEARING FAILURES REDUCED BY 90%
LUBRICANT CONSUMPTION REDUCED BY 40%
EQUIPMENT RUNS COOLER / SAVES ENERGY
CONTAMINANT'S ARE EXCLUDED
MORE EFFICIENT LUBRICATION

BEARING FAILURES REDUCED BY 90%
Less machine downtime and fewer maintenance problems are experienced when LubriMist Oil Mist is applied. Many Oil Mist users report up to 90% reduction in lubrication related bearing failures when LubriMist Oil Mist Replaces traditional sump and grease.

  • Up To 90% Reduction - Applies to Pumps, Electric Motors, Pillow Block Bearings and Blowers
  • Up To 80% Reduction - Applies To Steam Turbines
  • LUBRICANT CONSUMPTION REDUCED BY 40%
Lubricant is conserved because precisely metered quantities of oil are supplied to each bearing. A few fluid ounces of oil in mist form per day deliver better lubrication than provided by larger quantities of oil in sump applications. After conversion to LubriMist Oil Mist, users report oil consumption is reduced up to 40%.

  • Applies To - Pumps, Electric Motors, Pillow Block Bearings and Blowers

EQUIPMENT RUNS COOL / ENERGY CONSERVED
Bearings run cooler with LubriMist Oil Mist passing through the bearing and carrying away some heat. More importantly the friction associated with some bearings turning in and pumping oil is eliminated. Less energy is consumed resulting in less heat generation. Bearing operating temperatures can be reduced up to 20 degrees F after conversion to LubriMist Oil Mist, there by contributing to longer bearing life.

  • Reduced Up To 25 - 35° Applies to Pumps
  • Reduced Up To 20° - Applies to Electric Motors, Pillow Block Bearings and Blowers
  • CONTAMINANT'S ARE EXCLUDED
Two of the principle reasons for premature bearing failures are corrosion and abrasive wear on bearing surfaces. Corrosion occurs when water or other corrosive agents make contact with the bearing. Abrasive wear occurs when solid particulate, especially hard particles with diameters near the critical clearance dimension, are present in the lubricant and are carried between the rolling element surfaces. Because LubriMist Oil Mist maintains a slight positive pressure in the bearing housing, external contaminant's and corrosive agents are excluded. Since the oil mist particles produced in the central mist generator are smaller in diameter than the critical clearance dimension, no particles in this damaging size range are delivered to the equipment. In addition, because there is no oil sump with pure mist application, any wear particles from the housing, the bearing itself or the shaft are continuously washed from bearing surfaces thus insuring clean lubrication. Used, contaminated laden, spent oil is not splashed back to the bearings. LubriMist Oil Mist eliminates these two causes of lubrication related bearing failure.

  • Applies To - Pumps, electric Motors, Steam Turbines, Gear Boxes, Pillow Block Bearings and Blowers

    MORE EFFICIENT LUBRICATION
LubriMist Oil Mist is a centralized system with only one major device to maintain, the central oil mist generator. The central unit is typically equipped with monitoring instrumentation to control the production and delivery of the oil mist. It automatically and continuously provides clean, contaminant-free oil mist lubrication to the entire system. Manpower and operator intervention is limited to periodic inspection of the system. No longer is it necessary to dedicate personnel to the filling of constant level oilers, applying grease or to change out sump oil.

  • Applies To - Pumps, Electric Motors, Steam Turbines, Gear Boxes, Pillow Block Bearings and Blowers
