GE Acquires Remaining Interest and Control of GE Enter Software, LLC
<%=company%> announced the acquisition of outstanding ownership control of GE Enter Software LLC, a developer of power plant design, optimization and performance software. With this acquisition, GE Power Systems obtains 100 percent ownership control of this Menlo Park, California software company. Previously, in July, 1999, GE Power Systems acquired a 51 percent interest of ENTER Software, Inc, which was then renamed GE Enter Software, LLC. Financial details of today's acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquisition of remaining interest and control of GE Enter Software, LLC represents GE Power Systems continued investment in high-tech software solutions that improve operating efficiency and performance for their power generation customers. GE Enter Software will continue as a part of GE Energy Management Services, a GE Power Systems business group. The management team at GE Enter Software has agreed to continue working for the business.

In the past 18 months, GE Enter Software has experienced significantly strong orders growth, driven predominantly by orders of Efficiency Map, a leading power generation performance and monitoring software package. "With the growing GE Enter Software customer base, we continue to see how this technology is enabling tremendous benefits and improved performance at power generation plants around the world. GE Enter Software is a great addition to our overall strategy in the area of improving asset optimization for our customers", stated Pat Marolda, General Manager of Asset Optimization Services, which is a part of GE Energy Management Services.

GE Enter Software, LLC was originally founded in 1988 and currently has offices in Menlo Park, CA; Davis, CA; and Graz, Austria. The GE Enter Software product offering specializes in power generation thermodynamic software programs for design, simulation, diagnostic, and economic planning purposes. Products include the GateCycleÔ power generation thermodynamic design program; EfficiencyMapTM on-line power plant performance monitoring program; and Plant Payback, an optimization software package used for real-time performance and thermo-economic studies.
