The new Xentra 4900C continuous emissions analyzer is capable of continuously monitoring carbon monoxide, carbon
The new Xentra 4900C continuous emissions analyzer is capable of continuously monitoring carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and oxygen in a flue gas stream with just one 19-in. 3U rack-mounted instrument. Under some circumstances, the analyzer can monitor four different gases simultaneously within one analyzer. The instrument has applications in power generation, waste disposal incinerators, metals processing, boiler plants, thermal oxidizers, animal incinerators, crematoria and mobile emissions testing, or in any other situation which continuous monitoring of emissions is required.

Key measurements available with the analyzer are percent levels of CO and CO2, plus trace levels of methane and nitrous oxide. This is possible because the instrument can be fitted with the manufacturer's Ir1520 miniature infrared transducers. The unit comes with auto calibration as standard, which can be configured for each measurement independently. New enhanced NAMUR-compliant diagnostics and fault messaging enable a host computer to acquire not only measurement data via the unit's RS232 output, but also to acquire diagnostic and control data. Thus the host computer is able to control the calibration of the transducers remotely using external calibration valves.
