Fluid Flow Simulation Software
The CFX-TASCflow and CFX-4 are software tools for fluid flow simulation and analysis
The CFX-TASCflow and CFX-4 are software tools for fluid flow simulation and analysis. They can be used for various fluid mechanics applications, such as providing better analytical correlations for leak flow rates through cracks. The CFX 4 has advanced physical models for turbulence, combustion, radiation, particle transport as well as multiphase and compressible flows. In the CFX-TASCflow, true crack geometries have been included in the computational grids using scanned and digitized real crack surfaces. The geometry and flow boundary conditions can be quite extreme, but experience shows that converged solutions can be obtained even with extremely high flow path aspect ratios and significant pressure gradients of up to 160 bar over a 30 mm length. The results agree both qualitatively and quantitatively with reality and help in the understanding of influences that contribute to the entire flow field. Together with experimental studies, these simulations are allowing the required analytical correlations to be improved and are providing insight into the physics of this kind of flow.
