As engine and gearbox components begin to deteriorate, wear debris is released into the oil system, which is then removed by the filter. FilterCHECK is designed to provide repeatable and reliable detection of engine bearing and gear system damage within minutes of the filter being removed from the aircraft. It automatically flushes, counts, and captures the filter debris to provide maintenance staff with an immediate indication of mechanical degradation based upon the quantity of both the ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic metal particle content. It also incorporates the manufacturer's patented oil debris monitor (ODM) sensor technology used on the F22 Advanced Tactical Fighter.
To use, the mechanic simply inserts the filter into FilterCHECK, pushes START and reads the debris quantity directly from the display. It can be used periodically, such as when the filter is changed, on-condition to verify chip detector alerts, and during testing to confirm engine/gearbox as-built condition. Additional features include:
Quantitative Prognostic Tool
Detects Wear Debris both ferromagnetic and non-Ferromagnetic metals
Replaces subjective visual assessment
