Project Overview
The Eielson AFB Central Heat & Power Plant (CH&PP), located near North Pole, Alaska was in need of monitoring the temperature of overboard water used to cool their turbines at the point where the water flowed into a French Creek two miles from the power plant facility. According to the power plant's permit, issued by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, pH and temperature of the overboard water must be monitored once each day. This was an arduous task since the area had been declared a "wetland" and access via road was no longer allowed.
