Direct Reading Ferrograph

Predict/DLIreading ferrograph, DR, is a quantitative measuring instrument for a wear particle analysis lab. It can also be a stand alone monitor screening for abnormal wear conditions that require further analysis. The system detects sudden increases in the concentrations of particles in the critical 1 to 250 micron range and provides a warning of abnormal wear. There are no limitations in machine or lubricant type being monitored by this product, and water contamination does not affect the readings. It is designed for simple instrument setup and operation. Auto-downloading of data to software applications is also possible in this system. For laboratories using the company's data management and analysis software, automatic system trending and notification of abnormal wear conditions is performed. This application was developed for and runs in Windows 95 or NT.

This product is a microprocessor-based instrument that has internal diagnostics designed to ensure reliable functioning of the instrument. An LCD panel allows the technician to set instrument operating parameters, test parameters, and communications protocol. Prepackaged disposables are available with sample vials, precipitator tube assemblies, pipette tips, sample bottles, sample tubing, and chemical solvents and diluent oils. A starter kit of supplies is available to ease setup and initial operation of the DR instrument.
