Delmarva Power and Atlantic Electric are Now Known as Conectiv Power Delivery

Conectiv's Delmarva Power & Light Company and Atlantic City Electric Company, utilities will now be known as Conectiv Power Delivery. These two companies have been providing safe, reliable electric and natural gas service for more than 200 years.

The new name -- soon to be seen on the company's electric and natural gas utility trucks, uniforms and signs -- is part of the transition which started when Conectiv was formed after the merger involving Atlantic Energy, Inc. and Delmarva Power & Light Company in March of 1998.

The change of the names of the two regulated utilities will go far toward clarifying the different roles of the different businesses under the Conectiv corporate umbrella. The competitive businesses under the umbrella all carry the Conectiv name: Conectiv Communications, Conectiv Energy, Conectiv Solutions, Conectiv Thermal and Conectiv Services.

Conectiv Power Delivery will continue to generate and distribute electricity and distribute natural gas in the same safe, dependable and reliable way customers have come to count on.

In September customers received inserts in their monthly utility bills to inform them of the name change. The company would like to draw your attention to the monthly bill inserts. Beginning in October, customers' bills will carry the Conectiv Power Delivery name and logo, although the mailing envelope will continue to carry the names of Delmarva Power or Atlantic Electric.

Also beginning with the October bill, customers will be asked to make checks out to Conectiv Power Delivery. It is important that the checks be made out to Conectiv Power Delivery, rather than to just Conectiv, as the corporation has a number of companies which include Conectiv in their name.

The name change will have no effect on rates. Conectiv stock will continue to trade according to the assigned stock symbols: CIV for Conectiv Common, CIV.A for Conectiv.
