A side stream may be treated to increase the cycles of concentration by reducing suspended solids and/or hardness and silica. Cooling tower blowdown may also be treated to minimize waster or to assist in a zero liquid discharge facility.
Power plant cooling water cycles may be enhanced, even to the point of achieving zero liquid discharge status using these technologies, including side stream softening, pretreatment, membrane technologies, evaporation and crystallization.
