Cobham has announced that their Prescott, Arizona facility will become their primary North American slipring manufacturing site, producing components for the wind turbine market and other commercial/industrial/military applications.

Cobham has a long and accomplished slipring legacy.  Their Annemasse and Paris, France facilities are two of the world’s foremost producers of slipring technology, with more than 50 years of design, manufacturing, and support experience.  In addition to the wind turbine sector, the business specializes in technology for military land vehicles, helicopter applications, food and handling industries, and communications.  Designs may be standardized or customized, including low-maintenance slip ring versions capable of several hundred million rotations without component switch-outs.

“We are excited to take on manufacturing of this dynamic and growing product line in North America,” said John Payne, Cobham Aerospace Communications’ General Manager.  “Our avionics design and manufacturing experience qualifies us uniquely to produce sliprings, a sophisticated component vital to virtually every industry.  In addition, our Arizona location will mean improved delivery and service capabilities for customers throughout North America.”  Inquiries about Cobham sliprings should be directed to James Esneault, at james.esneault@cobham.com, or by visiting www.cobham.com/cobham-sliprings.aspx.
