ABB's Carbon in Ash Monitoring System represents the latest technology in the measurement of unburned carbon in ash
ABB's Carbon in Ash Monitoring System represents the latest technology in the measurement of unburned carbon in ash. This patented real-time, non-extractive monitoring system incorporates the latest in microwave technology for the reliable and accurate measurement of carbon.
The device is generally mounted on the boiler back-pass. It can use existing access door openings, or it can be mounted on reinforced ductwork installation. This eliminates costly boiler tube modifications. Information can be graphically displayed, or integrated into ABB's Combustion Optimization systems. The data necessary to detect inefficient and costly operating conditions is available in real-time.
Carbon in Ash Monitoring System features include:
- State-of-the-art non-extractive monitoring, to measure carbon across the width of the back-pass
- Real-time non-extractive monitoring, to provide data in seconds. Conventional extraction designs may require several minutes of processing
- A simple design, without moving parts, provides fast installation and less maintenance than complex extraction designs
