Benetech, Inc. acquires Amerex
Benetech, Inc. announces it has just acquired Amerex Industries, Inc., located in Kennesaw, Georgia. Founded in 1983, Benetech is a privately held corporation which successfully pursued a strategy of internal growth until March 2000. At that time, Benetech committed to strengthen its successful business through strategic acquisitions that fully support core customers as well as expand into additional industrial markets.
"Amerex is a significant and exciting strategic acquisition for Benetech," says Joe Pircon. "It gives our Benetech international company units a strong technical, engineering and manufacturing resource and product additions that round out Benetech's Dust Management capabilities to utility and industrial customers. Especially in North America, we can now offer comprehensive dust management services and products with tremendous performance and value options."
Amerex began operation in 1981 manufacturing, designing and installing air filtration, gas cleaning and heat recovery systems. Today, it is one of the largest industrial air pollution control companies in North America. Amerex successfully markets engineered products and turnkey applications to numerous industries including: steel, cement, lime, mining, rock products, utility steam and power, incineration, material handling, pulp and paper, chemical and ferrous and non ferrous foundries.
As a financially solid leader in dust suppression technology, Benetech's already wide range of products and services and the good fit of Amerex offerings will help Amerex overall to improve its growth potential within the process industries.
"Douglas W. Kindred, Amerex Industries President since 1999, will continue to lead that company as President." Pircon continues, "Doug's leadership in the past two years has strengthened Amerex with a significant increase in revenue and booked orders over the previous year. Our strategic focus for growth in the Benetech companies will utilize Amerex's technical and engineering strength by integrating both product lines into the Benetech Dust Management packages for utilities and other process industries."
Mr. Kindred's career covers 24 years in industry with a vast majority of the time in a corporate leadership role. Prior to joining Amerex Industries in 1999, he was a partner for 18 years with ESI, Inc., a private design/build company specializing in industrial steam power plants. Doug was hired to turn Amerex around. During the past two years, he successfully focused on customer relationships, product quality issues and improvements to the bottom line.
Benetech, Inc. was founded in 1983 by Joseph Pircon. He helped engineer the first "comprehensive" coal dust suppression program. Benetech has continued to provide innovative solutions to many process companies over the years. With the additional range of capabilities available through Amerex, Benetech, Inc. now specializes in comprehensive dust management solutions including dust suppression chemicals and systems; engineered systems for containment and dust collection; combustion products; plus additional capabilities including emission control products like flue gas conditioning; SOx control technology; gas cleaning and heat recovery and freeze conditioning agents. Always a new product development leader in its market segments, Benetech annually treats over 336,000,000 tons of coal world wide to prevent dust explosions and protect employee health. They are the largest supplier to utilities that burn Powder River Basin Coal as a fuel source. Benetech's capabilities encourage clients to rely on turnkey project installations.
