Aquatech, a world leader in the development of wastewater recycling, reuse and treatment, announced it has been actively operating the MoVap wastewater treatment solution for shale gas at a field location near Masontown, Pennsylvania. To mark the company's progress to date, the week of August 15th, Aquatech launched a series of special events where it is hosting natural gas producers and professionals, regulators, government and industry leaders and members of the media to see the unit in live operation.

"We have seen a tremendous amount of interest in MoVap from people throughout government and private industry," said Venkee Sharma, President and CEO of Aquatech. "But when they have had the chance to see this innovative water treatment solution up close, it has surpassed their expectations, which makes everyone on the Aquatech team very proud and enthusiastic as we continue to work to meet the challenges of the shale gas industry."

MoVap, which is part of the company's MoSuite portfolio of water treatment options for the shale gas industry, represents Aquatech's 30-year history of providing the most sophisticated and comprehensive produced water treatment solutions around the world, innovatively scaling it for mobile applications on the well pad.

When fully treated with the proprietary MoVap solution, waters can be reused or returned to the environment in compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. MoVap goes beyond simply recycling and reusing flowback and produced waters in the field. The solution provides a new standard for mobile water treatment, meeting compliance levels formerly associated with comprehensive stationary water treatment facilities. The MoVap unit is designed to reduce the volume of high total dissolved solids (TDS) laden wastewaters from hydraulic fracturing operations on the well pad.
