Acea Expands In The Photovoltaic Sector: Two Plants Now Operational With A total Capacity Of 12 MW In The Province Of Viterbo

Acea Solar (100% Acea Produzione) continues its expansion in the photovoltaic sector with the entry into operation of two plants in the province of Viterbo, with a total capacity of approximately 12 MW. The first is located in the municipality of Nepi, and the second in Bomarzo.

The Nepi plant, with a capacity of 10 MW, was entirely designed and built by Acea Solar. It is expected to generate approximately 18 GWh per year and is capable of producing enough energy to meet the annual energy needs of roughly 7,000 households, while preventing the emission of 7,336 tons of CO2 per year, compared to equivalent energy production from fossil fuels. The park covers an area of about 14 hectares and benefits from remuneration under a GSE incentive.

The Bomarzo plant, with a capacity of 2,4 MW, was entirely developed and built by Acea Solar. It is expected to generate approximately 4,4 GWh per year and is capable of producing enough energy to meet the annual energy needs of around 1,600 households, while preventing the emission of 1,760 tons of CO₂ per year, compared to equivalent energy production from fossil fuels. The plant, which benefits from remuneration under a GSE incentive, covers an area of about 4 hectares.

Both plants were built using the most advanced installation techniques, including bifacial modules and a mono-axis tracker system, which increases energy production from the same surface area. They were also designed with particular attention to landscape integration and respect for the surrounding environment, taking into account the area’s morphological and scenic features, to avoid impacting local ecosystems, while contributing to the conservation and enhancement of the surrounding environment.

With the entry into operation of these two photovoltaic plants, Acea reaffirms its commitment to developing renewable energy production, contributing to the achievement of energy transition goals and the country’s sustainable development.
