Cutler-Hammer's low voltage Digitrip electronic trip unit system was built around the Digitrip OPTIM 750 and the Digitrip OPTIM 1050 solid state trip units. The OPTIM series of products provides protection, coordination, diagnostics, monitoring and communications capability to power distribution applications employing Series C molded case circuit breakers and standard plug busway (SPB) or DS II low voltage power circuit breakers.

The OPTIM System was design to provide reliability and protection for any application where continuity of power is essential. OPTIM can be a single circuit breaker programmed by a hand-held OPTIMizer programmer. OPTIM can also be switchboard with a Breaker Interface Module, which can display data from up to 50 OPTIM units. Circuits can range from 70 to 5000 amperes in size.

Digitrip OPTIM Systems, featuring 750 and 1050 trip units are all equipped with built-in communications capabilities that support networking with the Integrated Monitoring, Protection and Control Communication System (IMPACC) integrated monitoring, protection and control communications system. Digitrip OPTIM with 1050 trip units incorporates advanced energy monitoring, power factor and power quality/harmonics monitoring functions to support ongoing systems analysis.
