The Chempure Sodium Analyzer is intended for the continuous determination of sodium in condensate and feedwater. Sodium is highly corrosive to the turbine, so constant monitoring of sodium in the polisher effluent, particularly during and after ammonium break, is critical to the operation of a once-through plant.

The Chempure Sodium Analyzer is intended for the continuous determination of sodium in condensate and feedwater. Sodium is highly corrosive to the turbine, so constant monitoring of sodium in the polisher effluent, particularly during and after ammonium break, is critical to the operation of a once-through plant.
The Chempure Sodium Analyzer uses a sodium-sensitive measuring electrode and a pH reference electrode. An organic base, diisopropylamine, added to the sample raises the pH, eliminating interference from hydrogen and ammonium ions. Diisopropylamine also buffers the pH, ensuring that the potential of the pH reference electrode remains constant.
