Tech Note: CeraMem® Ceramic Membrane Technology

HPD membrane modules are unique, low-cost ceramic membrane products based on the proprietary CeraMem technology platform.

This technology features three main components:

• Membrane element design is based on the use of large-diameter ceramic honeycomb monoliths, with proprietary modifications, as membrane supports.
  
• Unique materials are used for the monoliths: highly-durable, all-ceramic compositions.
  
• Ceramic membranes of novel chemistries are applied to the supports.

The technology is developed for microfiltration (MF) and ultrafiltration (UF) membranes and is in development for other membranes, most notably pervaporation membranes.
