TS 2000 NDT Multi-Channel System for Waterwall Scanning from the OD
TesTex, Inc. has developed the TS 2000, an innovative multi-channel NDT system for the OD scanning of waterwall tubes and pendant superheater/reheaters. This system detects and quantifies defects from oxygen pitting, caustic gouging, hydrogen damage, flue gas/low NOx erosion, cracking, etc. Base metal can be penetrated up to 0.75 inches (19mm).
No couplant required
Uniform rust and scale have no impact on the signal
Tests bends and elbows
Scanning speed of 10 to 15 feet (3 to 4.5m) per minute
Scanners and probe arrays are contoured to tube OD
Wide range of scanner sizes available, i.e. 1.0" to 4.0" (25.4 to 102mm)
Real time data display with advanced signal processing
High resolution color graphics with 3-D display
Accessibility is provided by scaffolding the furnace cavity (hard, swing, stage)
Select internal functions such as gain and frequency to fit tube specifications
Choose area to scan
Move TS 2000 scanner along the length of the tube at a constant rate
View collected data in real time on the screen via the innovative SCAN software
Mark any flaw indications on the tube for later verification, if needed
Quantify flaws with the SCAN software
Results reported in percentage of wall loss or mils remaining
Full color final reporting showing flaw evaluation and depth is standard
