TBI-Bailey, a unit of Elsag Bailey Process Automation,, announces the release of the Model TB82 pH/ORP transmitter,, the first instrument in its new Advantage Series. Designed for field and panel mounting, the device is compatible with all TBI-Bailey pH/ORP sensors, including the new Next Step and Next Step Advantage sensors with solution ground. In conjunction with a Next Step Advantage electrode, it gives the user diagnostic information which includes glass electrode operational status, reference impedance, calibration data, temperature compensation error, and sensor slope and efficiency.

User-entered temperature compensation modes are manual, standard automatic and automatic solution. A user-enabled diagnostic spike output feature will alert the presence of faults by cycling the 4-20 ma output between high and low output values (patent pending). The user interface consists of a large LCD display and multi-function soft keys that guide the user through configuration, calibration and interrogation of the instrument (patent pending). Additional features of the microprocessor-based TB82 include two security levels, future HART communications capability, and a hold output feature for ease of calibration.
